Best Cabinet Hardware Jig Reviews - (Updated List)
1. The Original Cabinet Hardware Jig Tool
I loved the durable design concept and an intuitive layout. If you are looking for a durable piece of equipment that will last for a long time, this is definitely one to consider.
Not so Good
The price is kind of ridiculous here. For the money, you spend on this product you could buy like ten lower-priced jigs.
If you want an accurate jig that will last you forever, this is the one to go with. The build is such that the holes are preformatted to accommodate the standard needs of most average cabinetting jobs.
It is also made to be swift. No clamping is required for accurate cuts and drilling.
The ease of use factor actually enhances the value somewhat. While most jigs don’t cost even a fraction of what this one does, the value factor is heightened by the fact that you may never need to buy another cabinet jig in your life.
Now that said, the price tag is still pretty asinine. Cabinet jigs tend to be very affordable. Often enough, you can pick them up on the cheap at your hardware store for $20 or less.
Such is not the case here, but then you also are getting a tool that performs better than average. If you want quality, you’ve got to pay for it.
2. Valiant Cabinet Hardware Jig
I loved that you get many of the same features I loved in the top pick but for roughly half the price. The value offering here is truly awesome
Not so Good
The layout could be slightly more intuitive. There is a bit of a learning curve here.
If you liked the quality of my top pick but simply couldn't justify the cost, then you may find much to like in this next option. You get many of the same quality features but for a truly small fraction of the price.
The layout of this jig is also great. It is preformatted to make setting up your drill quick and easy. It is also super durable. The aluminum build keeps the tool light but also tough enough to last pretty much forever.
There was really only one factor that I took issue you with: the learning curve. While some jigs are fairly intuitive in their layout such was not exactly the case here. You will definitely be able to figure it out eventually but doing so will take time.
It is still a great piece of equipment, but the learning curve may be more than some people want to deal with.
3. ASCENDONS Cabinet Hardware Jig for Aluminum Alloy
I loved the price. That is definitely the biggest selling point here.
Not so Good
This product simply is not quite as durable as some of the other ones on our list. If it takes a drop or simply endures heavy use, the wear and tear will start to show sooner rather than later.
The Ascendons is an extremely affordable & one of the best cabinet hardware jig that will be great for people on a restrictive budget. But in spite of the small price tag, you still get many important features.
I was particularly partial to the aluminum alloy build. It makes the tool very lightweight and easy to move from job site to job site.
It is also very easy to use. The layout is extremely intuitive and can be adjusted to accommodate a wide range of common measurements.
Unfortunately, this tool is not quite as well build as some of the other units on our list. It should stand up fine to regular use, but in the event that you drop the jig, it may experience serious damage. No tool is perfect, right? If you want value, this is the jig to go with. However, if you want something that is virtually indestructible, you will need to spend some more.
4. Kreg Tool Company - Drawer Slide Jig with Cabinet Hardware Jig
I liked how lightweight this product is. If you are looking for something that you can effortlessly take from job to job, this will be a great piece of equipment to consider.
Not so Good
The durability factor simply is not there. Where most of the jigs on our list are made of tough metals, this one is mostly plastic.
The Kreg Tools is an affordable piece of equipment that will serve as an enticing option for buyers who are on a budget. The layout is easy to use, and you can pre-configure the jig so that it is consistently set to the measure that you use regularly. This makes the results extremely repeatable.
It is also extremely lightweight. The entire unit weight just a few pounds making it a good option for people that are constantly taking their gear from job site to job site.
Unfortunately, the durability factor was not awesome. This jig is made mostly of plastic and suffers as a result. The plastic does make it easy to transport, but it is also not nearly as tough as the aluminum that we saw with most of the other units.
5. YIZRIO Cabinet Hardware Jig for Handles
What We Likedreciated the combination of durability and portability. This unit is lightweight but also tough enough to stand up to most job site wear and tear.
Not so Good
The layout just isn’t really cutting it for me. It can be difficult to configure the template which means that hardware installation can take a while.
The Yizrio is a moderately priced hardware jig that buyers on a budget will appreciate. It is designed to be both lightweight and durable thanks to the aluminum build. It also features quick-release hinges that make configuring your layout settings pretty quick. This will save the regular user a lot of time in the long run.
However, these things said, I did bump into some real friction in the department of layout. This unit just isn’t as easy to set up as some of the other options on our list. Whereas many of the products highlighted here today were specifically optimized for the purposes of user-friendly effectiveness, this one can take some getting used to.
6. Cabinet Hardware Jig tool for Handles and Knobs Drawer
Pretty much everything about this tool is awesome. The layout is quick and easy, the build is tough and lightweight. Pretty much anyone would be happy to have it in their tool collection.
Not so Good
The Price. Boy, the price tag is truly a whopper on this unit.
The Cabinet Hardware Jig is what you would call a premium unit. The design concept is made to make the tool as durable as possible. The tough build means that it will be able to stand up to pretty much anything. Meanwhile, lightweight design also makes it super easy to transport.
The layout also gives you everything you could ask for from a jig. It sets easily and can be pretty much effortlessly adjusted. It is also naturally pre-configured to accommodate the needs of most standard jobs further streamlining the effectiveness of the tool.
Unfortunately, pro-grade equipment always tends to come at a pro-grade cost. This is quite possibly the most expensive jig on our list (and indeed, one for the pricier units on the market at large). You’ll need to shell out the big bucks on this one.
7. True Position Tools - Original Cabinet Hardware Jig
This unit is statistically rated as the most accurate jig on the market. If you need something that is uncompromising in its performance this will be a solid unit to consider.
Not so Good
This is a pretty expensive jig. It also can be fairly challenging to use.
The True Position provides users with the optimal combination of durability and accuracy. In fact, this unit has been tested and specifically designated the most accurate jig on the market. If you are a pro looking for incredible results this is going to be the unit for you.
Realistically, this is a tool that is designed for the professional user. The durability, the portability, and the accuracy all account for a jig that is extremely reliable.
However, it is also not necessarily made with the beginner user in mind. The layout can be a little bit challenging to navigate. Pros shouldn’t have any problem but if you are an amateur user you may need something a little bit easier to use.
8. Kreg Tool Company KHI-PULL Cabinet Hardware Jig
This is a lightweight easy to use tool made with the amateur in mind.
Not so Good
It’s not very durable. For the amateur do it yourself, there probably won’t be any serious problems. However, it won’t suit the needs of the pro.
The Kreg Tool Company KHI-Pull makes things easy on the amateur. It can be set fairly simply, it is affordable, lightweight, and accurate enough tor reliably get most jobs done.
If you are trying to perform a relatively small do it yourself job, this will be a very affordable jig to consider. Unfortunately, though, anyone outside of the amateur community is probably going to want to go with something else.
Durability is the real issue here. The product simply is not tough enough for the needs of a serious user.
9. TOURACE Cabinet Hardware Jig for Handles and Knobs
I appreciated the optimal combination of durability and transportability that this unit boasts.
Not so Good
The drill holes are not sized very well. Certain tools won’t be able to work in accordance with this jig at all.
The Tourace is a reasonably priced piece of equipment that will suit the needs of the non-professional buyer on a budget. It features a tough aluminum build and a design that is made for facilitating transportation.
The unit is also extremely easy to set and adjust. If you are trying to simplify your life with a really straightforward piece of equipment this will be a good option to consider.
However, there are other factors to consider as well. Most notably, the drill holes are somewhat janky. While they can, of course, fit any bit, the chuck of some drills is not readily compatible with the layout of this unit. In other words, depending on the drill you are working with, you may not even be able to use this jig.
10. Cabinet Drawer Drilling Template Jig-Door Handles
It’s one of the most affordable pieces of equipment on the market.
Not so Good
Simply put, this unit is not durable or accurate enough for the needs of most buyers.
We close the list out with a very simple piece of equipment. This unit is lightweight, easy to use, quick to adjust, and all-around suitable to the needs of a do it yourselfer.
I was also partial to the top-notch warranty. If you run into any problems with this tool, the warranty will ensure that you are re-compensated.
Unfortunately, though, this tool just isn’t built for the needs of the pro. It’s not extremely durable or accurate. It is an affordable piece of gear for the occasional quick gig but if you need something extremely reliable this won’t be the one for you.
How to Buy Cabinet Hardware Jig for Your Project?
And now, here are some buying considerations that might serve to simplify your decision.
The material of the jig can have a big impact on its performance. Many of the best options on the market are made of either stainless steel or aluminum. These materials are great because they do well to combine durability with transportability.
However, they also tend to be pretty pricey. If you won’t be using your jig often, you can save money with a simpler plastic design.
Most jigs are available for under $30 making them a fairly accessible piece of equipment for the average user. However, as you may have noticed from our list that price can be magnified by ten depending on the unit that you are considering.
The good news is that a really solid piece of equipment can last for a true lifetime. In certain cases it can actually be more worthwhile to pay more to get more.
Some units will actually include information on their accuracy rating. If you are buying the jig for professional purposes this will be an especially important factor to keep in mind. The jig has got to perform well, or it is basically useless.
As with any tool, it is important to consider the warranty for the product you are looking at. Even jigs go through a good deal of wear and tear and are always to your benefit to deal with a company that is willing to keep you covered when things go wrong.
What do You Need it For:
Your intentions are also important. What exactly are you trying to install? Nobs? Handles? Not all jigs are well qualified to handle every type of hardware. You definitely want to invest in something that is as versatile as possible, especially if you are using it for professional purposes.
